On July 1944, DJ decided once again to move the family. This time he wanted to chase new horizons, new blue skies, new unexplored lands, new dreams, and a new direction. By and large, he wanted a place where they could breathe in a new life, under the same sun, but with a new chapter in their lives. That place was none other than Mexicali, Baja California….
…. Baja California wasn’t even a state—it was territory of Mexico with vast uncharted land. Mexicali was its capital, a small burgeoning city that had started to grow since the improvements with irrigation, transportation, and land reform in the 1930s.
